FAQ
What happens when I reserve a spot?
You will have the option to do 6 payments of $500 starting August 1, 2026 or pay the remaining $3000. Failure to make payment will result in your spot opening up to someone on the waitlist. You will also get the option to pay for the Textile Museum in the email.
Who is guiding this tour?
Dr. Carina Gardner will be running this tour.
What if I have special dietary needs?
Since most of the meals will be purchased by you, you can choose what restaurants and food you eat throughout the city. Amsterdam has a number of options for tourists on specific diets!
What if I can't do all the activities?
If for some reason you cannot do an activity, you are welcome to enjoy the city or rest at the hotel. Refunds are not given by activity since group tickets are purchased in advance.
Will there be time to do other things?
We do have a lot of activities planned but many evenings will be open for shopping, eating, and site seeing. If there is a specific quilt shop or food you want to experience, you should have time to do those things. You will be able to use your Transit Card to get to any place in the city!
What airport should I fly into?
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS)
When should I arrive and depart?
Please come in for the opening dinner on April 8, 2027. You will be able to check into the hotel at 4pm. General departure is April 14, 2026 anytime that day. Generally, the hotel will allow us to stay until 10am-11am.
Will I make friends?
We will hold an online meeting for everyone attending and an online community and Marco Polo will be accessible to talk about packing, expectations, and more! You will get to know people before we even arrive and can build strong friendships while on this trip!
Is airfare included?
No. To keep costs low. We have not included airfare. We hope this makes it easier for you to use points, choose when you would like to come and go, and give you flexibility with your travel.
Where are we staying?
We are working with hotels at the moment to get a group rate, but we plan on staying inside the city for easy access to everything. Rooms are shared (two to a room) with twin beds. We will work out room mates if you have a preference who you would like to stay with directly in our online community.
Will I have a roommate?
Yes, everyone person will have a roommate. There are two people to each room and you can choose someone in the group before we leave through our online community. There is no extra cost if for some reason we have less than the allotted number of participants and you end up in a single room. This would be rare as this is expected to sell out.
Is this trip physically demanding?
Amsterdam is a walking city. We will be doing a lot of walking, biking, and site seeing. Should you decide you need a break, you will be able to use your transit card to go back to the hotel to rest. We do recommend that you are physically healthy and are excited to walk and bike the city.
What happens if I need to cancel?
You have until July 31, 2026 to get a full refund. After this, there is no refund. However, you can transfer your ticket to another person through January 1, 2027. This means that you can have that person pay you and take your spot on this trip.
How many people will be attending?
We have allotted 20 spots for this trip.
Is there a waitlist I can join if all the spots are taken?
Yes! And if there are enough people, we may open up another trip! You can get on the waitlist here: https://api.leadconnectorhq.com/widget/form/1vnXJc4xnoNaXGzcxCKe

The currency used in the Netherlands is the Euro. Most restaurants, shops, and attractions accept credit cards, and tap to pay is widely used. You may want to bring a small amount of cash for markets or small purchases, but you will not need large amounts.
